MoRhythm-Africa App Recensioni

Must-have app if you are into djembe!

This is a powerful tool if you are serious about learning djembe. Only available on Apple devices, so I switched my android phone to an iPhone. That’s how much I enjoy using this app!

Disappointed

I like the app but what I don’t like is the fact that you don’t get all the rhythms all at once. You only get ten rhythms and then you have to pay additional fees for each set of ten. I don’t recall seeing this information before purchasing, otherwise I might have declined. Piti Piti Pa costs a dollar less and automatically includes SIXTY-TWO rhythms! No additional purchases... However, I do like that Mo Rhythm includes the written notation... Only three stars; mixed feelings but mostly disappointed in the overcharging for additional rhythms without informing the consumer beforehand...sorry

Solo phrases and other great features!

If you're serious about practicing djembe and dununs, I *highly* recommend the Mo’Rhythm app. I've had it for a while and just downloaded the new Advanced Rhythms, only to discover that they have added solo phrases, woo-hoo!! Other great features for the 30 rhythms are notations, option to repeat the signal, independent volume control for each part, metronome, and history. I have studied West African drumming for 2 years, and this app is a great compliment to live classes.

Nice program

Very nice program that is easy to use.

Unique and Amazing

This app designed by the brilliant Monette Marino is amazing. Feature rich and very useful for personal or group learning. Worth 3x the price. Highly recommended!

Perfect!

Perfect for teaching, practicing, and learning to add solos.

Great app!

Monette Marino, I love this app! With the ability to slow the tempo, mute other accompaniments, the list of notes, and metronome. Every thing we need. Thought of everything. Even links to video demos. Well done!

What a great app!

I am thrilled with how simple this app is to use and how much easier it makes the parts understandable. I recommend this to anyone interested in studying Djembe and Dunun.

Excellent

If you want to learn how to play djembe, this is the PERFECT APP TO DO JUST THAT! I love it👀🎶😀

Great App

I loved the simplicity, audio clarity, and design... Recommend that you allow 2 or more parts to play together and that the historical content be fully accessible.

5 stars!!!

Very cool app!!!! Great job!!! Great tech companion for Drummers.

Great djembe app!

The incredible Monette Marino's djembe app, MoRhythm, is great for all students of djembe! You can parse drum parts (even dunun bell parts) to hear exactly what combination of things you want.

Nice app!!

I have two app for djembe. This one doesn't have tab, so you need to listen and learn by ear. But sound is much better than another app which has tab. I hope this app increase more song collection & tab.

Wish it worked

I just downloaded this app. I think it has great potential if it worked. It does not work with my new iPhone 6s. I got it to come on a couple times but only when it feels like it not when I want it to. Very frustrating. I would like a refund or some assistance.

Freaking Awesome!

I love this! It's ingeniously designed to make it possible (and super fun) to play along and practice to any part in several different rhythms. The metronome is terrific and I love how you can adjust the volume on either the bell or beat in the djune parts. I'm looking forward to going through the videos too - what an amazing resource! I haven't played a djembe in ages but this little app instantly put a huge smile on my face and my hands started remembering the rhythms. And the notations and background info are interesting too. Aside from all of that, I use this as music to work to - it makes a great high energy sound track to block out distractions. Thank you Monette, totally cool!

Frustrated

I had high hopes for this app only to be disappointed when after paying $2.99, it doesn't work because you have to pay $.99 each rhythm. Boo. Good idea but at least give some free songs.

Coolest app!

This is an amazing app. I have a hard time remembering African rhythms. Sheet music is no help to me. I need to hear it. But trying to record with my phone in a group setting is just too unclear and clumsy. This app takes care of all that by having all the drum parts played together or separately. You can adjust the tempo to play slow until you get it down and then speed it up. It's brilliant!

Awesome!

This app is seriously cool! It is so perfect for playing solo yet still having accompanying rhythm with you. Love the idea and love her app.

Great app for Djembe ensembles!

MoRhythm is an excellent app for learning and practicing African drum rhythms. One can mix and match different parts of the ensemble and adjust the tempo. Videos are available for hand patterns. Works really well to play along with the phone on a djembe. Great app!

Mo'Rhythm changes the game!

I have known Monette Marino since the early 90s. I was always impressed by her talent, discipline and absolute joy with which she approached her music. Like many of us who were fascinated by African rhythms she spent many years learning obscure rhythms from cranky teachers who often times wouldn't take her seriously because she was a woman. She has paid her dues at least twice. This app, Mo'Rhythm is a game-changer. It could only have been designed by someone with the depth of experience and knowledge that Monette possesses. This is just what percussionists always wanted, a way to hear the part you want to learn in context, and isolated from the others instruments, in real time. This makes it almost too easy. For all of you just coming up and anxious to learn as many rhythms as you can, once you install this app you will have no more excuses. I can't wait for the Afro-Cuban and Brazilian versions. Right? There will be more won't there?

Super App

The sounds are clear. Being able to adjust the volume of each drum, change tempo, mute bells and individual drums is very clever. With the inter-audio feature, I can also play along in djembe pro or play my African drums and "practice" while everyone else is asleep. Thanks for putting this together.

Very Impressed!

I can't think of what else this app needs. Choose a beat, solo or mute any instrument to play along or just learn. Notation in 3 styles. Video support if needed. Very nicely done app.
